Update 2: Going well? I think?


I worked on a lot of spriting and tilesets, as well as two new cutscenes and some background music. I have zero experience making music of any kind, so I've just been throwing things together in garageband on my phone and saving anything that sounded remotely promising. The fighting problem has been mostly fixed, though I'm still getting used to making a fighting mechanic. It can be really tricky to figure out how much HP and ATK characters should have, especially because I don't know what the math involved is and have so far just kind of been guessing. My pride is keeping me from asking people, which is probably really stupid, but I can't help it. 


I've also been thinking of the rest of the story, which is sizing up to be strangely depressing, really digging into mental health themes at one point. I really hope it will be enjoyable for people to play through, and not just an endless slog of depression. My first beta tester likes it, but she's also my mom, so she's probably pretty biased towards me.
